Man Wah Receives Orders of Cheers Sofas Exceeding HK$87 Million 2015-11-17

(12 November 2015, Hong Kong) – Man Wah Holdings Limited (“Man Wah” or “the Group”, stock code: 1999) has received record-setting orders totalling more than HK$87 million for Cheers First-class Cabin Sofas during the “Double 11” promotion on TMALL (www.tmall.com) on 11 November 2015, soaring more than 140% compared with the approximately HK$36 million orders in last year’s “Double 11” promotion. This feat once again broke the single day sales record of recliner sofas on TMALL. This strong performance underscores the tremendous consumer acceptance of Man Wah’s sofas and the success of the Group’s carefully orchestrated online sales and marketing promotions strategy.

The Group has launched 50 products in the promotion and organised multiple promotion activities under the theme of “National Upgrade Day”, which were well-received by the consumers. More than 24,000 sofa products were sold on the day, among which the powered leather recliner chair with a USB charger broke TMALL’s single-day sales record by selling more than 12,000 chairs.

Ms Zoe Wong, Executive Director and deputy general manager of Great China division of Man Wah, said, “In response to the rapid development of online sales in China, the Group further boosts its marketing for online sale to complement its offline businesses. We have well-prepared and launched many competitive products for this year’s ‘Double 11’ campaign. Our target in this promotion has been met and this reflects the high recognition of our brand and products by local consumers, in particular young adults.”
